Lecture title: Update on basal ganglia and thalamo‐cortical circuit dysfunction in NPH
He has a clinical background as a senior consultant neurologist with a sub specialization in the field of movement disorders and hydrocephalus. He was one of the founders of the Hydrocephalus Unit in Linköping, characterized by an integrated assessment of several competencies.
Since early on, his research interest lies in CSF-disorders, covering, pathophysiology, radiological methods, CSF-biomarkers, gait analysis, clinical symptoms and rehabilitation aspects of normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH). In an ongoing project he and his co-workers study Diffusion Tensor Imaging Along the Perivascular Space and CSF-biomarker in iNPH longitudinally. Another coming project is to prospectively compare iNPH-patients with Parkinson patients regarding symptoms and imaging features.
He is a board member of the Swedish Quality Registry of Hydrocephalus.
