Lecture Title: Use of CSF Biomarkers for Postoperative Management of Shunts
In 1997 after graduating from Juntendo University School of Medicine, Dr. Madoka Nakajima joined the Department of Neurosurgery at Juntendo University where he studied at several affiliated hospitals and learned the skills of neurosurgery. In 2003 he became a board-certified specialist, and in the same year was certified in neuroendoscopy. After conducting research on hydrocephalus and epilepsy received his PhD degree from Juntendo University in 2009. His research is mainly on hydrocephalus at Juntendo University, and in 2018, obtained Grant-in-Aid for Fund for the Promotion of Joint International Research (Fostering Joint International Research) and collaborated on CSF biomarkers and pathophysiology research at the University of Eastern Finland. After returning to Juntendo University, he continued teaching and collaborating with many graduate students and participating in Tokyo Metropolitan Government projects at the Medical Center for Dementia Diseases as well as Neurosurgery. In 2022, founded Sigron Co.Ltd., an EEG remote diagnosis company with co-researchers. In academic activities are focused on neuroendoscopy, creating guidelines for normal pressure hydrocephalus, and diagnosing epilepsy with EEG analysis support by AI.
