He began working as a neurosurgeon in 1997 and commenced his research at Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine in 2001. Over the course of four years, he acquired a knowledge in medical statistics and genetics. In 2002, he joined a collaborative research initiative with the laboratory of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo. He studied abroad in collaboration with the Centre National de Génotypage (the National Center of Human Genomics Research) in France in 2004.From 2013 to 2019, he gained extensive experience in chronic adult hydrocephalus while working at Rakuwakai Otowa Hospital under the supervise of Prof. Masatsune Ishikawa. Subsequently, from 2019 to 2022, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Shiga University of Medical Science. Since October 2022, he has held the position of lecturer in the Department of Neurosurgery at Nagoya City University, where he actively promotes clinical research on adult hydrocephalus.In 2017, he initiated collaborations with Fujifilm Corporation for research on 3D/4D image analysis, and with Digital Standard Corporation for research on 3D gait analysis. He continues to make significant contributions to the development of medical science and technology by leading industry-academia joint researchs integrating image analysis and CSF dynamics, as well as Japan-nationwide joint research on 3D gait analysis.
