Lecture Title: Simulation for hydrocephalus surgery
He began working as a neurosurgeon in 1997 and commenced his research at Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine in 2001. Over the course of four years, he acquired a knowledge in medical statistics and genetics. In 2002, he joined a collaborative research initiative with the laboratory of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo. He studied abroad in collaboration with the Centre National de Génotypage in France in 2004.
From 2013 to 2019, he gained extensive experience in chronic adult hydrocephalus while working at Rakuwakai Otowa Hospital under the supervision of Prof. Masatsune Ishikawa. Subsequently, from 2019 to 2022, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Shiga University of Medical Science. In 2022, he transferred to Nagoya City University as a lecturer and was appointed as an associate professor in April 2025.
In 2017, he initiated collaborations with Fujifilm Corporation on 3D/4D image analysis research and with Digital Standard Corporation on 3D gait analysis research. He continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of medical science and bioengineering technology by leading numerous industry-academia and international joint research projects integrating image analysis, gait analysis, and cognitive function.
