Dr. Samantha Lanjewar is the Research Programs Manager at the Hydrocephalus Association (HA), where she leads administrative and strategic research initiatives, including grants management, program development, and oversight of the HA Patient-Powered Interactive Engagement Registry (HAPPIER). She works to advance high-impact, community-informed research by fostering collaboration among scientists, clinicians, engineers, patients, advocacy partners, and more.
Dr. Lanjewar earned her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University, where her research focused on identifying drivers of human astrocyte development. Her background spans neuroscience, genetics, and translational biomedical research, complemented by expertise in program leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector coordination.
A committed advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in science, Dr. Lanjewar serves on the board of the SHANK2 Foundation, where she contributes to strategic initiatives supporting individuals and families affected by SHANK2-related disorders. She is also actively engaged in STEM outreach and mentorship, working to expand access and representation for underrepresented groups in biomedical research.
Dr. Lanjewar is passionate about advancing collaborative research and patient-centered initiatives that improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals affected by hydrocephalus.
