Dr. Eduardo Carvalhal Ribas developed his academic career at the University of São Paulo Medical School, Brazil, where he completed his medical degree (2000–2006), neurosurgery residency (2007–2012), and advanced academic training, earning his Doctorate, Post-Doctorate, and Privat-Docent (Associate Professor) certification in Neurosurgery. He became board-certified by the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery and the Brazilian Medical Association in 2012.
Early in his career, Dr. Ribas completed advanced international fellowships, including a long-term fellowship with Prof. Albert Rhoton at the University of Florida, USA (2012–2013), focused on microsurgical anatomy applied to neurosurgery and the central core of the brain. He also trained with Prof. Hugues Duffau at the University of Montpellier, France (2011), specializing in brain mapping and awake tumor surgery, and with Prof. Ugur Ture at Yeditepe University, Istanbul, Turkey (2010), dedicated to microsurgical techniques.
Dr. Ribas currently continues his research in neuroanatomy and surgical technique at the University of São Paulo Medical School and has a clinical practice focused on brain tumor surgery at Albert Einstein Hospital, São Paulo, Brazil.
