Florian Volz, MD started his neurosurgical training in 2010 in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Medical Center in Freiburg, Germany (Head of department Prof. Dr. J. Beck). He received his Board Certification for Neurosurgery in 2016 and was appointed Fellow of the European Board of Neurological Surgery (FEBNS) in 2019. Since than he is a senior consultant for Neurosurgery specializing in complex spine and pediatric neurosurgery. As the neurosurgical lead of the Spinal CSF Leak Section he focuses on the establishment and further development of minimally invasive techniques for spinal pathologies. His scientific work includes more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals, mainly covering different spinal conditions and CSF disorders.
